Harrison Woodfield
Architects is particularly interested in preserving
valuable links to our architectural and cultural past
and in the recycling of building materials where this
is practical, economic or aesthetically desirable.
A few examples of
our work:
Polychrome terracotta door
frame and wall medallions from an old Mid-West
restaurant, circa 1910.
Solid iron balustrade
with
a fleur de lis motif, probably
originally from the deep South.
Hardwood arches
personally extracted by Sara from a Mid-West
building immediately
before demolition.
Solid iron railings from
a demolished
hospital.
Ceiling
beams, exposed trusses and wood ceilings from
large dimension wood salvaged from the United
States, Canada and Australia.
Antique limestone paving
stones from France, cut in random rectangles.
Recycled
polystyrene used in the manufacture of reinforced
concrete forms.
